Tatiana Cabrera USA, b. 1998
The dinner table is where life happens—a stage where our most pivotal and important conversations occur. In Dinner Table, Cabrera uses a bold, playful style to explore a very real topic and address what we desperately need: a safe space for open discussion, free from judgment, where connection and healing can take place.
Beneath its vibrant surface lies a layered story. The pears at the center symbolize politics, while the surrounding tableware tells a story of access: some settings have more, others have less, reflecting our varying resources and backgrounds. Cabrera brings these different elements to the same table to remind us of the power of sitting with people from all walks of life to discuss current events—because when we listen to lived experiences different from our own, we learn so much. We need these spaces for open discussion because politics affects us all, no matter who we are. When we gather without judgment, we create room for genuine understanding and can find solutions to ongoing contemporary life struggles.
