Deeply personal and responsive to the current American landscape, this work underwent a significant transformation during its three-year creation. Originally titled The Healing of Our Sacred Democracy, the composition is built upon many layers of red, white, blue, and darkness. As Qualls worked through these layers, the piece evolved into a celebration of the "genius" required to sustain a free society.
