In her series of abstract landscapes, Cabrera merges her two cultural backgrounds to build a land where they can finally meet. The bright skies and seas represent the clarity of her California upbringing, while the dark mountains pay homage to the undiscovered beauty of her ancestral home( Guanajuato Mex).

These are not literal places, but ethereal depictions of a dual heritage where the bright coast meets the mysterious mountains of the past. Because these pieces remain grounded in abstraction, Cabrera invites viewers to find their own "home" within the work—a rewarding exchange for an artist who seeks to provide the sense of calm and belonging she once struggled to find for herself.
